StepVenture ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information when you use the StepVenture mobile application.
1. Who we are
StepVenture is a fitness and adventure app that turns your daily steps into quests, experience points, and social challenges. This policy applies to the StepVenture app and related services.
2. Data we collect
We collect the following types of data:
- Account data: When you sign in with Apple, your Google account, or with email and password, we receive an identifier from the provider (via Firebase Authentication). For email/password accounts, we store your email and encrypted password securely in Firebase. For Apple and Google sign-in, authentication is handled by those providers.
- Step and health data: With your permission, we access step count and related health data from Apple Health (iOS) or Google Fit (Android) to power the app's step tracking and quest features.
- Usage and crash data: We use Sentry to collect error reports and crash information to improve app stability. This may include device type, OS version, and anonymized usage context.
- Subscription and purchase data: RevenueCat helps us manage in-app subscriptions. We receive information about your subscription status and entitlements, not your full payment details (those stay with the App Store or Google Play).
- In-app progress: We store your profile, step history, challenges, leaderboard rankings, and other progress in Firebase Firestore so your experience is synced across devices.
3. How we use your data
We use the data we collect to:
- Provide and personalize the app (quests, XP, leaderboards, challenges).
- Sync your steps and progress across your devices.
- Manage subscriptions and premium features.
- Improve the app and fix bugs using crash and error reports.
- Comply with applicable laws and respond to valid legal requests.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy governing how they process data:
- Firebase (Google) – Authentication (Sign in with Apple, Google, and email/password), Firestore (database), Storage, and Cloud Functions. Google Privacy Policy.

- Apple Health / Google Fit – Step and health data. Use is subject to your device and account settings and the respective provider's policies.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data.
- Request a copy of your data (data portability).
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent where we rely on it.
To exercise these rights, contact us at support@step-venture.com or through our Support page. You can also delete your account from within the app, which will initiate removal of your data in line with our systems and retention policies.
